Having tried numerous restaurants throughout Japan, Kurabu is up there with some of the best we've eaten at - particularly for its relatively affordable price.

We visited for lunch on a Friday in February and ordered the Shinshu beef and pork sets. The food was absolutely delicious - particular the beautifully charred steak and vegetables. The food was so good we ended up going again for lunch the next day and also tried the fried Shinshu chicken (again really delicious) and the fried river prawns (would eat a whole bag of these if I could!). They also offer unlimited refills for rice and miso soup.

The atmosphere of the restaurant is sophisticated yet comfortable and the staff were all super friendly and attentive. Our cups were constantly refilled with tea without ever needing to ask.

Would definitely recommend coming here for lunch or dinner when in the beautiful...

My son and I just ate here as the place we were initially planning on had already closed and the second place we tried had nothing I could eat (vegan, no fish). We were starving, and this was right where we were. We were unsure at first since everything outwardly is in Japanese, but they were immediately very warm and welcoming and brought an English menu. Our waitress went to great lengths to check ingredients for me. In the end, I ordered a few dishes from their ala carte menu, which was more than enough and was refreshingly perfect. One of the most amazing restaurants ever. If you are ever near obuse, I definitely recommend coming here. I have been coming here with my family every time we come to obuse, it's our go to lunch spot here not only because of how beautiful the restaurant is but the presentation, quality and taste of the food is incredible. The staff are always super friendly and the food is amazing! My favourite is the salad and the pork! The rice is also really special with fish and mushrooms.
