Read more小布施町の名物である栗料理や栗のデザートが食べられる喫茶店で、葛飾北斎の作品を鑑賞できる『北斎館』の隣にあるため『北斎亭』という名前が付けられています。 入り口に入ると、栗を使った和菓子のお土産を購入できる売店になっており、店の奥が喫茶店となっています。1階と2階の2階構成で、席数は100席以上あるため、大人数の観光客でも利用することが出来ます。2階との昇降は階段のみでるため、障碍を持つ人、大きな荷物を持つ人は1階の席を利用するといいでしょう。 喫茶店ではありますが、『栗おこわ』等の食事も楽しめます。一部の料理は注文後に作られているからか、注文から給仕までやや時間を要するものがあります。その分、甘さを控えた栗の味を充分に活かした料理を堪能することが出来ます。一方で栗の餡が使用されたお汁粉はかなり甘かったです(口の中に不愉快感が残るほどに)。
The cafe serves chestnut dishes and chestnut desserts, a specialty of Obuse, and is located next to the Hokusai Museum, where you can view the works of Katsushika Hokusai, hence the name Hokusai-tei. At the entrance, you will find a shop where you can buy Japanese sweets made from chestnuts, and at the back of the shop is a cafe with more than 100 seats on the first and second floors. The only way to get up and down from the second floor is by stairs, so those with disabilities or large luggage may want to take a seat on the first floor. Although it is a cafe, you can also enjoy meals such as "Kuri-Okowa (chestnut rice)". Some of the dishes are made after the order is placed, so it may take some time from ordering to serving.
