オリオンや — Restaurant in Onna

Food was okay, but we ended up with a surprise charge on our bill for an appetizer we didn’t ask for or purchase, but made seem complimentary.

They also brought us two massive beers which we did not order. The restaurant was empty, and we ordered using the table kiosk, so there was no mistake it was a scam.

They were trying to get us to take a sip and then charge us the full amount for something we didn’t ask for.

Dishonest place, which is a shame since we are living here and would have loved to find a good place...

Despite the warnings, we decided to try this place for the Okinawa food. Sat down and were presented with two bowls of appetisers. I said we didn’t want them and the waiter insisted “this is the system” I asked if they were complimentary and he said “no it’s extra charge” I said “we do t want them” again and he insisted. Stood up...

This was a terrible service. The staff brought some appetizers to our table without saying a single word. We thought they were free, but when the bill came, we were charged 450 yen per person. We told them we didn’t order it, but they just pointed to the menu placed in front of us, which had a note on the back saying that the appetizer would be charged at 450 yen per person. (We ordered our food through an iPad and weren’t aware of this at all.)

I’ve experienced unfair charges like this in other countries, but I never expected it to happen in Japan.

This restaurant truly degrades the standard of service that Japan is known for.
