The experience of enjoying matcha and wagashi felt like a step back in time, especially since the teahouse was a registered tangible cultural property. The traditional atmosphere, with its historic architecture and serene surroundings, set the perfect tone for the tea ceremony. The matcha, served in beautifully crafted bowls, was rich, frothy, and carries that perfect balance of bitterness and subtle sweetness. Paired with delicate wagashi, which was almost too beautiful to eat, the flavors complemented the tea exquisitely. Good tea and desserts (both Japanese and western). Really lovely atmosphere and always a really nice exhibition on the second floor. They also sell lots of handmade pottery and there’s an old tea shop right next selling tea, teapots and such. Both are old Japanese houses, so the smell of wood is enchanting.

I only wish they got rid of those annoying mask signs they put on tables....

日本茶好きさんにおすすめしたいカフェです。

江戸時代から続く青山茶舗経営の明治24年(1891年)建築の納屋のしっかり歴史のある古民家カフェです。お席は90分制の人気店で、入れたらラッキー(^^)！！

一階カフェ&雑貨コーナーと二階はギャラリー。中仙道の表と路地裏からの２ヶ所が出入口。

店内は大きな丸テーブルと長方形のテーブル席等があります。周りには陶器や雑貨が置いてあります、メニューは単品日本茶かお菓子付きのセット。和菓子か洋菓子選べます。

抹茶も良いですが、なんといっても店内に茶釜があり温かい日本茶を頼むと茶釜からお湯を自分で淹れておかわり可能との事。お茶好きとして初めて見る本格茶釜に大興奮しました。お茶はもちろん美味しく、これは楽しい〜( ◠‿◠...
