BUDDY BUDDY — Restaurant in Sapporo

We were staying down the street at the Monterey and it was a rainy night and chose this place because it was only 4 minutes away. I was pleasantly surprised when we got there to be able to have some great American style food in the heart of Northern Japan, quite unexpected. Be sure to travel upstairs and visit the washrooms - very classy! The decor is vintage and incredibly fun, they have a brass cash register that the waitress has to wind up to open the change drawer, probably early 20th century. Second Update: Well, we did come back (post State of Emergency) and had a great time. There were some service hiccups, but our pizza, burger, tacos, and pasta were spot-on! Good Goose Island draft beer too!

———— Update: We came back to give the food another try. Unfortunately, our chicken with “cream” gravy and nachos were quite sad. Not worth the price of the meal or the ¥500 otoshi.

We won’t be back.

———— Five star service; three star food. We loved the atmosphere and the very friendly service and found our pizza, wings, and salad to be solidly “ok.”

2025年6月7日 今日は彼女と正式に付き合ってからちょうど1ヶ月の記念日です。彼女がこのレストランを選んでくれました。外観からはビールをメインとしたバーだと思っていましたが、中の料理にとても驚かされました。 今まで訪れたレストランバーの中でもトップクラスの味だと言っても過言ではありません。私は普段、飲食店の味をあまり褒めないのですが、今回は本当に感動しました。だから、Googleで初めてレビューを書こうと決めました。 どの料理も心を込めて作られているのが感じられます。特にビーフマカロニは、今まで食べた中で一番美味しいパスタでした。価格も非常に良心的で、ミシュランのレストランにも引けを取りません。 ビールの味もとても濃厚で、個人的にとても好みでした。数少ない、「また来たい」と思えるレストランです。

2025.6.7 今天是我和女朋友正式交往的一个月纪念日。她选择了这家餐厅。从外表来看以为仅仅是一家主打啤酒的酒吧，可是里面的食物让我非常震惊。 我认为可以说是我吃过餐吧里面数一数二的水平了，我很少评价一个餐厅的味道好吃，可是这次让我十分感动，于是我决定留下我在Google的第一次的评价。 每一道食物都能感觉做的很用心，尤其是牛肉通心粉，可以说是我吃过最美味的pasta，而且价格也很合理完全不输给我吃过的米其林餐厅。啤酒的味道也非常浓郁，我很喜欢，是我为数不多吃了一次下次还想来的餐厅。

June 7, 2025 Today marks one month since my girlfriend and I officially started dating. She chose this restaurant. From the outside, it looked like just a bar that mainly serves beer, but I was blown away by the food inside. I can honestly say it’s one of the best restaurant bars I’ve ever been to. I rarely comment on how good food tastes, but this time I was so moved that I decided to leave my very first review on Google. You can really feel the care put into every dish. Especially the beef macaroni — it was hands down the most delicious pasta I’ve ever had. The price was also very reasonable, easily comparable to Michelin-starred restaurants I’ve been to. The beer had a rich, deep flavor that I really liked. This is one of the few places I genuinely want to come back to.

2025년 6월 7일 오늘은 여자친구와 정식으로 사귄 지 한 달이 되는 기념일입니다. 여자친구가 이 식당을 골랐습니다. 겉보기에는 그냥 맥주 중심의 바인 줄 알았는데, 안에 들어가서 음식에 정말 놀랐습니다. 지금까지 가본 레스토랑 바 중에서도 손꼽히는 수준이라고 생각합니다. 저는 평소에 음식점의 맛에 대해 잘 평가하지 않는데, 이번에는 정말 감동을 받아서 Google에 제 첫 리뷰를 남기기로 결심했습니다. 모든 요리에서 정성이 느껴졌고, 특히 소고기 마카로니는 제가 먹어본 파스타 중에 가장 맛있었습니다. 가격도 매우 합리적이었고, 제가 가봤던 미슐랭 레스토랑과 비교해도 손색이 없었습니다. 맥주 맛도 깊고 진해서 제 입맛에 딱 맞았습니다. 드물게 ‘다음에 또 오고 싶다’는...
