MORIHICO. Geijutsugekijo — Restaurant in Sapporo

The perfect spot for meeting someone—or just getting lost in your own thoughts. Strangely enough, it seems like locals don’t know much about it, but tourists can totally enjoy it too: welcome to Morihiko.

I wish they had one of those community notebooks like at the main store—where you can write something, read what others have left behind, and even flip back to your old entries when you visit again.

The sofas, the lighting—just as lovely as in the photos. Honestly, good space design can make you feel genuinely happy. This place proves it.

Very cosy Cafe hidden in the corner of an office building. Interior is very nice and although others have said it is quite expensive, if you get the pot of coffee, it is great value as you get at least another cup, if not 2 cups of coffee, making 2 cup equivalent to around AUD$3 (which is very cheap compared coming from a place where coffee is known for being expensive). Together with the sweets set, I found it to be a fairly decently priced place. The selection of speciality hand drip coffee is also a nice novelty. We ordered the cheese and chocolate cake and it was very nice, especially the Cheesecake as it was very smooth. Would definitely recommend a visit if you just want to chill and try a nice...

As many reviewers mentioned, their coffee is on the pricey side. Due to its location, I guess their target customers are more for people with time and money, people who want to have some quiet me-time over coffee, or people who wish to catch up with friends in a posh environment. It is shiny and posh, so different from original Morihiko's concept, but service was quite nice and furniture was so comfy. I did not have much time when I visited, but if I had more time, I would be happy to stay there and borrow a book from the library next to it. While coffee tasted good, but not exceptional and I would not be able to afford JPY700...
