I have tried many restaurants in this area looking for the right level of satisfaction. KINEYA, Sapporo APIA has done it in every way. Located just outside the B1 exit from Daimaru department store at Sapporo Station to the West APIA area. If you go to level B1 in Daimaru, ask where the packaged coffee is sold and you'll find the exit and this little gem just outside the exit a couple of stores down on the right. Somehow, after hours of looking online at different restaurants, my wife and I chose this one to celebrate our 39th wedding anniversary. It turned out to be a home run hit, right out of the ballpark. Amazing tempura I will never forget. Every piece was so perfect...taste, appearance, texture, FLAVOR, FRESHNESS, temperature, crispy, delicate, fresh oil used with very light color to the batter. Amazing Udon. Amazing specialty frozen desert...I could go on but enough. You need to decide for yourself. I already made a promise to them I would be back very...
Read moreI absolutely loved this udon place. The curry udon I had was incredibly flavorful, with just the right amount of spice and richness. The udon noodles themselves were perfectly chewy and had a great texture that made every bite enjoyable. One of the things I appreciated the most was the wide variety of options on the menu—there were so many different types of udon and side dishes to choose from that I honestly feel like I could eat here every day without getting bored!
The atmosphere of the restaurant was cozy and welcoming, making it a pleasant spot to enjoy a warm meal. The service was also impressive—fast, friendly, and efficient, which made the whole dining experience even better.
If you’re in Sapporo and craving udon, I highly recommend giving Kineya a try. I’ll definitely be going back next...

Plus there is an English menu and the staff are both nice and efficient, so it's easy and tasty! My favourite thing was that they have a half size option for udon because I have a small appetite and it's often hard for me to eat a whole bowl of noodles. (Would only be better if it looked out over some nice Hokkaido scenery but it's convenient in the underground of the station/shopping mall so can't...
