Lale Turkish Cafe & Restaurant — Restaurant in Sapporo

Me and my boss decided to have some turkish food for lunch on a friday and came to this restaurant. There is a tram station near this place. Finding parking was a little difficult as most of the paid car parks around the restaurant were full during lunch time. Luckily we found parking about 5 mins walk from the restaurant. The restaurant space is not big, but it has a nice feel inside. There was only one staff member working which I assume was the owner. He doesn't smile much, but he was kind and friendly. We got our food in about 15 minutes of ordering and the food tasted good. Before the food we were served soup and after the food we were served with Turkish tea. Saw this while hunting for food in Sapporo. Very near our BNB, so decided to try. 7:30pm full (only 4-5 tables). Spoke to the Turkish owner (in Japanese) and asked him to hold two counter seats for 8:30pm. He obliged. We went next door to the jazz bar for a couple of drinks and returned an hour later. Ordered humus, salad, pita bread, mixed kebab, and lamb chops. Food is VERY good. A single owner/operator so even more impressive. The lamb chops were nicely charred, and the mixed kebab was excellent. Hummus was very nice, and the wife enjoyed also the fresh salad. Another table ordered baclava, which looked excellent. It's the cutest restaurant. Someone below mentioned that they don't have an English menu. That's changed, they have one now. They've got a great mix of traditional Turkish home cooking and doner kababs. The turkish ice cream is also super interesting and really good. It's more doughy in texture than regular ice cream. The people working there are also super nice. There was a little boy there for his 6th birthday and they played Happy Birthday over the speakers for him (awwww).
