Mammamia — Restaurant in Sapporo

Absolutely loved this! Reservation could be done so easily through Google even without a translation. We were given a private room and had a waiter who spoke fluent English, who recommended his favourite dishes and was so patient helping us decide what to eat. All other waiters continued to help even going as far as to read off our phones for Google translate, trying so hard to make us feel comfortable and even though it wasn't the easiest to comunicate at times, they put in so much effort using hand signals, smiling, laughing and Google just to give the very best of service. The chef prepared free appetisers as well! It was reasonably priced (similar to most other izakaya restaurants). The skewers were amazing, fried karage with garlic too, the raw horse meat with an egg...

We had an amazing experience here! It was very traditional, great atmosphere and space with a live view of the chefs making the food. The waiters were helpful and tried their best to accommodate our English. The food was impeccable - we ordered a variety of dishes from the menu and all were good. I would highly recommend the grilled mackerel and the sashimi platter. Very fresh and good quality!

The only thing was that they asked you to remove your shoes so be prepared...

Passando na rua (dia 18/9/2023), resolvi entrar. Não tinha feito reserva mas pude ser atendida (não sabia que o restaurante trabalha com sistema de reserva). Pedi um prato que é preparado na hora, com peixe dourada e salmão, mas avisaram que é preparado na hora e levaria uns 30 minutos, por estar com pressa e fome, pedi uma salada verde com abacate e salmão defumado... estava muito saborosa (pena que nãotirei a foto). Resolvi provar o sushi e pedi uma porção pequena com 5 variedades ... que delícia!!

(Passing by on the street, I decided to go in. I hadn't made a reservation but I was able to be served (I didn't know that the restaurant works with a reservation system). I ordered a dish that is freshly prepared, with sea bream and salmon, but they warned that it is freshly prepared and would take about 30 minutes, as I was in a hurry and hungry, I ordered a green salad with avocado and smoked salmon... it was very tasty (I'm sorry I didn't take a photo). I decided to try the sushi and ordered a small portion with 5 varieties... how delicious!!
