Bar Penguin-dou — Local services in Sapporo

A little expensive at roughly 1000 yen a piece, but the rich ice cream parfets were to die for, the cream so rich and deep with flavor. Had my eyes closed half the time just to focus on the experience. Definitely one of the best options to experience Hokkaido Dairy, this ice cream is absolutely delicious.

As one of the few options open for dessert after 9 pm, we stopped by and were immediately seated. It was within 45 minutes of closing time, and had our parfets within 10 minutes. This is a place clearly for locals, I'm not sure if there's an English menu either, but don't hesitate to order a strawberry parfets (Ichigo) or chocolate caramel - both were divine. Although it's a bar setup at night, don't let that scare you if you're not into mixing your ice cream with alcohol, just specify and you'll be good.

One star off for price, but I'd still recommend you splurge, you won't find this quality many...

I visited there 3 times during my Hokkaido travel. In conclusion, this shop was very good. I ate parfait(1,210 Yen respectively) twice and soft icecream(310 Yen) once. If you want to eat soft icecream, you don`t have to wait. Just pay the money and receive it. But if you want to eat parfait, you may have to wait if all of the seats are occupied. Anyway, both icecream and parfait were very delicious and fantastic! And there are so many penguin things so if you love penguin, I also recommend you to visit there.

Absolutely loved the place. Very classic bar set up. Wall of alcohol bottles, polished wood furnishings, and low light, along with their penguin motifs of course. While the menu changes seasonally they have a great soft serve base that pairs well with their parfaits. I tired their ajiron grape and chocolate parfait which was surprisingly fruity and went well with their chocolate ice cream. The chocolate salted caramel parfait was also good, a little on the sweeter side but with a softer flavor profile.
