Wandered around the station vicinity and found this shabu shabu restaurant. Didn’t had a reservation so we reserved for 6 people on the spot at 8pm. While doing so, male staff in spectacles (which i assume is the store manager) was mumbling something under his breath which was weird. Ordering is done via tablet which caters to different languages. However, the process was pretty confusing (e.g. Free flow soft drinks; you would need to send in the order for the free flow soft drinks then after which you need to send in another order for the drinks you want. Soup choice; you can select 2 soup per pot so let’s say you have 2 pots, you can select 4 soups and if you want certain combination of soup in 1 pot, you would need to select carefully). We were confused with the ordering so we had one of the female staff to assist us in it. We stated clearly that we wanted 1 pot with the soup combination of the garlic soup + kelp soup while the other 1 pot would be sukiyaki soup + spicy soup and the female staff repeated and confirmed our soup combination multiple times. But when served, it wasn’t the combination we wanted. We inquired if we could change the combination to the ones we requested but it wasn’t possible which was fine 🤷🏻♀️ They had cheese risotto on their menu so we decided to try but we didn’t know that it was served after we finished our shabu (we don’t remember seeing it on the english menu that says it’s served after) hence, curious why it still wasn’t served, we asked the male staff in spectacles (assumed store manager) who was tidying up the table beside us. He sighed, mumbled to himself something and whipped out his phone to google translate instructions regarding the risotto 🤔 Overall, he was pretty reluctant in serving us and ずっとなんかぶつぶつ言ってます。外国人を相手にするのが面倒かな?There was also another male staff (wavy/permed hair) who didn’t seem that happy serving us/answering our inquiries as well 🙂↕️ All these left us feeling disappointed and unhappy however, the female staff that last served us with preparing our risotto was so sweet! Thanks to her the experience didn’t end badly. If i recall correctly, her name was Ishikawa(?)/石川(?). ありがとうお姉さん! Sent orders took pretty long to get served. Regardless the weird service experience, the food was pretty good! The beef and vegetables...

Incredulous and the worst customer service experience in my entire life. This place discriminates against non-Japanese speakers. Tourists should not come here. I left the restaurant with two kids in tow without dinner.
We are tourists and I booked this place 4 days in advance for dinner with my family of 4. After we settled down, we accidentally submitted an order (which was a bunch of random things) while still browsing on their ipad as we do not understand Japanese. Within seconds, we quickly alerted two of their staff to cancel and reset our order. They went away and we continued to browse the menu. Not long after, a staff member brought us the soup based on the wrong order. All these happened within a few minutes. We explained to him the situation using Google translate but what happened next was the rudest and worst customer service attitude I ever experienced in my life. The staff kept shaking his head and insisted we have to accept the order. We were even prepared to pay for the wrong order but he refused to allow us to make any changes. He kept repeating no English and refused to engage us even as we tried to converse through Google translate. There was zero empathy in the entire interaction, and the said staff was aggressive. In the end, we said we will pay for the bill but will not eat there anymore. The staff then said he will charge us only for the soup base which we agreed to.
As we were making payment, the same staff noticed I took note of his name and thereafter told me that we don't have to pay anything and pointed us...
Read moreFrom my last experience on November 1st, 2019, the Sapporo station store seemed to have hired new staff who were rude and racist. I have never experienced racist discrimination in Japan before, and the staff from the Sapporo station store have performed a bad attitude and a rude treatment to me and my family. Cause we are Chinese. When I first entered the restaurant, one female staff gave me a stinky face, which I didn't feel comfortable already.During the meal, we were asked, or may be I should say, forced ,to leave, even if we didn't finish the meal, 4 times! Later that meal, I made a claim for it to the Sapporo station store, I asked to speak to the manager, but anther staff pretended to be the manager, and fooled around with me, think I was gonna get tricked. So to all my Chinese friends out there, or whoever you are, wherever you're from, we have no reason to support such a place that hold prejudice, and treat people based on which contry they're from. Cause this is...
