Yakitori Dining Itadaki Cocco Chan — Restaurant in Sapporo

We tried this yakitori place since it was near our hotel. We got a table right away at around 9:30pm. While the pricing for the skewers seems reasonable, they have a mandatory surcharge per person of ¥375 for “appetisers” which was literally just fried rice cracker chips. I wish they were more upfront about this charge instead of sneaking it onto the bill when you pay. We would have come regardless but the way they did it didn’t leave a good feeling with us. We went bar hopping which is known in Japanese as "はしご酒" ( Hashigo zake ). This literally means "ladder alcohol". Going up one step at a time. And with each step having a drink. Anyway, we went to this Yakitori shop. Taken back by the huge rooster mascot outside, we just had to have a look! Great fried chicken, yakitori and their french fries were so crispy! Good all you can drink plan too. 1280円 for 90 minutes including Kirin draught beer. I asked the manager "Hey, is the rooster angry?". ”No, he's okay!". Hmmmm. What do you think? Great food....

I visited this place at 11 pm, when usually izakayas in Japan close. But this place was open, with their kind greetings. We ordered Yakidori barbeque grills which had rich taste and flavor and 90 minutes free alcohol which were about 1000 yen. Though we were there until late and ordered a lot, all of the staffs showed their best hospitability. I especially thank for giving us hot packs due to cold weather. I wish everyone visiting Sapporo visit...
