Ushi-Hajime — Restaurant in Sendai

We came here for lunch on a weekday, and the restaurant was decently filled.

We ordered the Sendai Gyu and Zao Gyu sets for 2,000¥ and 1,500¥ respectively. The restaurant has an all you can eat/buffet system for water, rice, bean sprouts and soup. The quality of the meat is very good, especially for this price - very tender and not too much spice, so the taste of the meat stands out a lot.

Staff was friendly and helpful, and the food didn't take long to arrive after ordering, even though it was busy. When we were leaving, we saw a selection of foreign bottle beers and asked if we could buy one, the owner was kind enough to sell us some after we explained that we wanted to buy German beer because we are from Germany. Thank you so much!

The seats are counter seats, but there's one bigger table available in a small room, if you're coming with a bigger group. Eating alone is easily possible, or in groups of ~3 people at the counter. The atmosphere is nice, peaceful and quiet during lunchtime. Everything was very clean, and the grills are set on low power so it's almost impossible to overcook your meat (if you've had a lot of yakiniku before, you know this can become a problem lol), medium rare is easily and quickly done.

I definitely recommend this place if you're in Sendai and want to try Sendai Gyu or Gyutan, especially during lunchtime, the value for money is...

お気に入りの焼肉店を見つけた！ 仙台の焼肉屋を検索していて見つけたお店。オクサマと2人で訪問。11時オープンに合わせて10分前に到着する。開店時間を待ってエレベーターで上がってみる。お店は2階で、降りるとすぐお店の入口という作りだった。一番乗りではあったけど予約はしてなかったので念の為聞いてみると、12時まで退店であれば大丈夫とのことで、カウンターの一番奥の席に案内される。 メニューを見ると『A今日の日替わり1,100円』『B蔵王牛1,700円』『C仙台牛2,300円』『Dサーロイン2,500』の4種類のランチメニューがあった。土日でもランチメニューがあるのがありがたい。Aはいくら安いとは言え豚と鶏のミックスなので無し、今回はBでオーダーする。足りないことも想定して追加で『ちょいカルビ』『ちょい赤身』『ホルモンミックス』もオーダーする。 ご飯、スープ、もやしのナムルはセルフで食べ放題ということで、まずは取りに向かう。そんな事をしている間に、席に着くと次々と提供される。 B蔵王牛ほ2人分がまとめて1皿で提供だったけど、そのボリュームに驚く。大抵こういうお店の場合一人前といっても5〜6枚かなと思っていたのに、こんもりと盛られている。どう見ても30枚以上は盛られている。追加しなくても良いくらいだった。焼き始めると次々と追加オーダーも提供されて一気に賑やかになる。 まずはメインの蔵王牛、ハッキリ言ってものすごく美味しかった。部位によって柔らかさの違いはあるものの、全体的に柔らかくて脂も適度な感じが実に美味しい。さすが目の前でオーダーを受けてから切り出しているだけはある。良い意味で値段に合わない焼肉だと思った。そして食べてもなかなか減らないボリューム、もう大満足しかない。 追加の赤身とカルビ、これについてはもっと美味しかった。とにかく柔らかいのだ。口の中で溶けるとはまさにこの事だろう。赤身は噛めば噛むほど肉の旨味が出てくる感じ、カルビは脂っこくなく溶けるような柔らかさが極上の美味しさだった。ホルモンは生ホルモンという感じて、こちらも脂っこさはなくホルモン本来の旨味がある一品だった。ご飯もおかわりしてお腹いっぱい大満足のランチだった。 店内は若い女性が多く、来店する人のほとんどが予約して来ているようだった。帰るころは12時近かったけど、すでに満席に近い状態になっていた。 インスタや店舗下の看板ではミックス定食1,000円、和牛焼肉ランチ1,500円となっているので...
