I knew I came to the right place when I saw the queue at this restaurant. As a matter of fact, when in Sendai, one needs to try out their beef tongue and I was looking for one highly rated one on google map and found this place.
Apparently, one can make a reservation but since we are tourists, we try walking in. But no chance, we have to queue. We waited close to 30-40 minutes before we were given a table. But as we sat there waiting, the crowd kept coming in and that was a sure sign that this place was good.
We had the beef tongue and the kids had the beef tongue curry. They do offer set meal and larger portion of the famous beef tongue. Amazing texture and they don’t taste gamey at all. It was like a good piece of beef, with my chewiness to it, but in a good way. The charred part gave it a Smokey flavor and it was well marinated. No wonder the queue was so long. Prices were very reasonable as well. Just make sure that you reserve your seats if...

Each of us has to ordered an appetizer and a main meal, as told by the service staff, we weren't given much choice on the appetizer, she just recommend us to take the braised beef and was quite pushy about it.
Food is really nice and we do like the grilled beef tongue, very fragrant, juicy and the meat texture is simply amazing. it does go well with rice and it was a satisfying meal.

Definitely the thickest of cuts for grilled beef tongue, but remarkably bouncy and crispy. Slightly higher price that I think reflects in the meat quality, though the oxtail soup and veggies/rice are less remarkable (other spots were more even). Instead of mustard pickles you get served some sweet miso paste. It does pair well, but I miss the mustard greens.
Very kind and patient staff despite their efficiency in handling the bigger crowds you'll see here. English menu...
