Kineya Shimonosekishimoruten — Restaurant in Shimonoseki

Kineya, rice-beating mallet house, is a udon and soba noodle chain restaurant originating in Oosaka. The noodles have bite, the fishy soup is hot and tasty and they do non-standard egg soup (tamago toji) udon and curry udon too. Cheaper than most other restaurants in the mall and about 800 yen per bowl, or about 1000 yen with rice. The service is fast and of course polite. There is free tea. The tables and seats are not too cramped. One can see the kitchens. The interior is Japanesey but no view of the outside world. They have English menus and plastic food models in the window viewable from the mall. I had irodori (colourful) soba also available as udon dish containing deep-fried shrimp, tofu and leaf, mushroom, Japanese leek, and fish sausage. I drank all the soup and that of my daughter who had deep fried tofu udon. My son like his curry udon but kept saying is was hot (temperature-wise). My wife liked the egg soup udon especially with chilly oil (ra-yu) but said the volume was too great for her. I would definitely recommend this restaurant even though I don't...

2022.09.09 かつ丼定食をいただきました。カツ丼はいわゆるミニ丼ですが、うどん半玉増量（無料）したので満腹になりました。 カツはもちろん揚げたてで柔らかく、うどんもほどよいコシで美味しくいただきました～。 七味が柚子風味なのもよいアクセントでいいですね。
