I was worried that I wouldn’t be able to find space in a cafe for my group of 12, but when I called ahead, the owner of this mom-and-pop shop said they were busy, but would try their best. When we arrived, not only did he come outside to guide me to the parking lot on foot, but he had put up the “closed” sign so that the cafe wouldn’t fill up and there would be room for us all. Located up a spiral staircase, the inside was decorated in a very quaint style, with plants and antiques everywhere. Each of the three tables could seat four people, and there were four seats at the counter, so in total, the place could have seated 16 at once. We ordered coffees, morning sets (butter toast with some fruits), and acai bowls, which were all delicious and filling. The food and drinks took a while, but since there were 12 of us and only the two owners working, it couldn’t be helped. I was very grateful for the last-minute accommodation!

The Misago was the first café I visited arriving in Shirahama. I instantly felt welcomed and the coffee was perfect. I went another time and had the fruitbowl which I can only recommend! There are always locals around which to me as a foreigner is very interesting to experience. I enjoyed the nice atmosphere a lot. The owner totally adds up to the atmosphere. He is very kind and proactive! You should go there!

Taste Ordered a plate of Tomato and basil sauce spaghetti. It has eggplant and mushrooms. Not spicy.

Another order was butter toast, which comes with some slices of cut fruits.

Overall, both are well done.

Service No English menu and the owners aren't proficient in English but they tried their best to explain.

Service was prompt (maybe it is due to a few diners)

Very friendly owners.

Cost ¥800 for spaghetti ¥450 for beer ¥800 for dessert

Ambience Nicely decorated. Small but cozy Cafe.

Location Located along Miyuki Dori (nearer to Shirarahama beach).

Transport Located near Shirahama bus center Bus 11, 31 & 102

Asahigaoka bus stop Bus 12 & 30
