白浜の宿 醍醐 — Hotel in Shirahama

We received a warm and friendly welcome from the owner, who kindly communicated with us using her handheld translator. We had booked a room for five nights and were generously offered a complimentary upgrade, which we greatly appreciated.||Our room was a good size and featured an extra-large, comfortable bed. A variety of amenities were provided and replenished whenever needed. The room had a large frosted window—while it offered privacy, it would have been nice to have the option to enjoy an outside view- even though it looked directly onto neighbouring properties. ||There were no English channels on the TV, but this wasn’t an issue for us, as we spent most of our time exploring the area.||At check-out, the owner expressed that she wished she could have done even more for us, and thoughtfully arranged a complimentary ride to the station in an immaculate van.||Overall, I would recommend this Ryokan. I am impressed by the hospitality of the staffs. They are kind and helpful. My mother left a handbag and they contacted the travel agent right away to inform me. We got the handbag back very quickly. The room is spacious, clean, and comfortable. The location is very close to the beach and other restaurants in the area. The staff also informed us a local festival at the beach as well. Excellent hotel, amazing staff with great hospitality and in a convenient location. Walking distance to the beach, restaurants and local supermarket. Second time visiting Shirahama and can not fault this place! So glad I got to stay here. Rooms were spacious and bedding was comfortable with a traditional Japanese breakfast provided daily.
