Dhanyabad is an easily accessible Indian restaurant not too far from Takasaki JR Station. The food is delicious, service was quick and friendly, it is an easy recommendation if you want Indian/Napali food. Be advised though, they only take cash payments or Paypay.
Approaching the restaurant, you can smell the aroma from the kitchen walking down the street. What a great smell! I came in during the late lunch/early dinner time and there was no wait for a table. There was 6 other people dining at the time. The restaurant can only sit around 14 people. I ordered the Stamina Set. It comes with 2 choices of curry, na'an, Tandoori Chicken, Kebab, Chicken Skewer, Malai Tikka, side salad, a drink and dessert. I chose Mango Lassi as my drink and Butter Chicken and Keema for my curry. At first I was worried that the portion sizes would be small, but no, this set was more than enough. I was full by the end. The Mango Lassi was smooth and creamy. Perfect sweetness. The na'an was warm and fresh. It paired well with the curries. I did find the curries a bit sweet for my taste. And they are NOT spicy at all. The restaurant does provide chili paste on the side to adjust the spice levels to your liking. I appreciated this as I know Japanese tend to not like spicy foods. The kebab and chicken were tender and juicy. And lastly, and probably the least, the side salad and dessert (it was ice cream), was quite standard issue. Nothing special there.
Service was great, especially considering there was only 1 person taking orders, cooking, serving and taking payments. Granted, there was only 7 of us at the time, it takes a lot of effort to cook and serve at the same time. The interior of the restaurant has a well used, old, but clean feel to it. Quite charming in fact. Another review mentioned cockroaches but I didn't spot any.

Read moreThe food was really good. Very classic Indian nepali restaurant. The curry was tasty and they make their own samosas. It was delicious. Definitely try their men’s set and ladies’s set! We had sag paneer and kheema curry. The kheema curry was not up to the point, but the mixed vegetable curry was good. They accept cash, PayPay and Verdot card. Very good service and...
