I stumbled upon this Swedish café on Instagram and knew I had to visit. It’s located on the eastern side of Tokyo, nestled in a beautiful park by the river.
I treated myself to a delicious kanelbulle (cinnamon bun) and a rich kärleksmums (soft chocolate cake with chocolate glaze). I also enjoyed a Skagenröra sandwich—shrimp, dill, mayonnaise, and other goodies—served on kavring (dark rye bread), a soft, flavorful bread I’ve rarely found in Japan.
Åter, the café, makes everything in-house and strives to preserve authentic Swedish flavors. I must say, it almost felt like being back home in Sweden.
To top it all off, I had a warm matcha latte, which was one of the best I’ve had—mildly sweet with a soft matcha taste. And the Totoro latte art was a delightful touch! 💚😄

Such a cute dog-friendly cafe with a unique menu! Plenty of non-alcoholic and alcoholic drinks to choose from so there’s a little something for everyone :)
The interior is decorated to perfection with a calming atmosphere. I love that it’s by the river. The patio is the perfect place to unwind on a sunny day.
Cafes that I can visit with my dog is hard to come by so this makes the experience extra special for us!
