Asia Bistro Dai (Tachikawa) — Restaurant in Tokyo

My recent visit to Asia Bistro Dai left me with mixed feelings. The restaurant boasts a beautiful atmosphere both inside and outside, setting the stage for an enjoyable dining experience. The staff were kind and attentive, ensuring our needs were met throughout our time there.

However, there were a couple of aspects that hindered our overall enjoyment. When we visited for lunch, the restaurant was crowded, resulting in a noisy environment that hindered our ability to relax and fully enjoy our meal. If you prefer a more serene dining experience, I would recommend visiting during less busy hours.

In terms of the food, we found the lunch menu offerings to be somewhat disappointing, as the flavors didn't quite meet our expectations. However, taste is subjective, and what didn't suit our palates may appeal to others. Despite this, we remain optimistic and plan to try other dishes on their menu in the future.

Shrimp toast, crab fried rice, and the fried cheese with honey were the clear standouts—really flavorful and well-executed. Unfortunately, everything else fell short. The honey shrimp was underwhelming—tiny shrimp, bland flavor, nothing memorable about it. The khao soy tasted off—the flavor profile just didn’t hit right, and the pad thai was flat and disappointing, completely missing the tamarind that gives it its signature taste. Both dishes felt like they were missing key ingredients or seasoning.

The biggest issue, though, was the service. We were sat outside and then basically forgotten. It was cold and uncomfortable, and no one checked on us. The food took forever—like, forever—to come out. We were really hungry when we sat down, but by the time it finally arrived, we weren’t even in the mood to eat anymore. We tried to cancel some of the food because the wait was so long, but they wouldn’t let us. It completely killed the vibe...

We all got the holiday lunch menu. It was convenient to order using the tablet. While waiting, there was a red baby spider that fell on my side of the table, pretty cute but I looked up and saw the ceiling with some spiderwebs and there are few insects flying around so the cleanliness is already neglected a little bit. The appetizers was great , we all love the shrimp toast. The main dish came and I got Pad Thai since I always order it in any restaurant i go to. Not sure if i got unlucky but I was disappointed with the pad thai here since it was too chewy and it lacks flavoring even if I saw positive review about it here. The other main dish , hainanese chicken rice and gapao was great. There was just some egg shells included in the gapao’s egg though. Overall, I dont recommend...
