Had an amazing experience here. Upon entrance, the female employee rushed over to provide us with a sample to occupy us while she was busy serving other customers.
They didn’t have the flavor that brought me in (hojicha), which the employee apologized for, but she also went the extra mile and told me it will no longer be refilled before the end of the season. She managed to do this with ESL and my non-existent Japanese instead of just telling me “sold out” so I don’t come back like an idiot tomorrow looking for it. Thank you 😎
Also, we had lost track of time, having visited after the JR station. When I asked if we could stay & sit to eat our ice cream, she apologized and said “no”. I’m glad she said this, instead of using that annoying Japanese habit of saying you everything like “it’s going to be difficult” instead of just saying “no”.

The line goes out the door during the summer, and you have people who only want one scoop stuck behind people ordering 24 flavors and people literally signing up for the god forsaken point card app for 5 minutes holding up the whole line and the scoopers.
Meanwhile the employees seem forced to measure the depth of the ice cream while having no policy in place to prevent customers buying flavors that already ran out, or prioritize people who just want one scoop. Given how expensive the ice cream is here why not just add a 2nd cash register and part timer for peak hours on weekends? One line for single scoops, another for people buying ice cream for large groups. Have a sticker that goes inside the freezer window to indicate that a flavor...
