This place is just a couple of minutes from Rikugien Garden. Perfect to have lunch or dinner then visit the park.

Chef is friendly and skillful. For ¥8,000, i think it was best value for money.

I liked the fact he served the shrimp head along w the shrimp. Anago was served two ways (salt and sauce). Shima aji and Akashi were also good. Uni and abalone were directly served to my hand. Abalone was really tender. Then tuna three ways. He marinated them in some kind of soy sauce for about 15 mins. Last piece was torched and served upside down w rice. All three pieces were tasty. The sides of red clam were used for the hand roll. I ordered two extra pieces - oyster and aji and both were fresh. I could taste the ocean when I had the oyster sushi.

My sister and I ate here for dinner. We are staying in the Komagome area and wanted to eat omakase, so found this place had good reviews on google. Even though we don’t speak any Japanese, the experience was excellent. They don’t have an English menu and do not speak much English, but the apprentice would translate all the courses for us on their phone. 駒込の佳店、鮨高はし。

普段は大将がワンオペで切り盛りされているそうです。 定休日は、火・水です。

が、

火・水は、鮨高はしの隣の店舗で、「分高(わけたか)」を昼間のみ、昼膳(11:00〜14:00)、気まぐれ蕎麦(15:00〜17:00)、二毛作で営業をしています。

そして、

火曜日のみ、二代目の日(若の日)として、二代目が鮨高はしの板場に立ち、密かに営業をされています。

前日までの要予約です。

先日、隣の分高(わけたか)で、二代目と会話を交わしたこともあり、二代目の日の情報をいただき、応援も兼ねて訪問してみようと思っていました。 と、タイミングよく火曜日の午後、所用ができたので、これ幸いと昼時予約を入れました。

店頭には「定休日」とあります。（笑）

清潔感のある店内は、ダイヤモンドヘッド型のカウンター8席、テーブルが1卓(6席)ほど。

ドリンクは瓶ビールをオーダーしました。

白酢ベースの舎利は、ほどよい大きさ、味わいは癖がなく万人向け。

玉、やや甘め。 大和煮、かなり甘し。

煮鮑、旨いです。 縞海老も好みでした。 トロタクはスプーンに乗せて、ワンスプーン的なひとしな、ユニークな出し方ですね。

一点、新生姜のガリ、甘酸っぱさが強いですね。 にぎりの間にガリを食べると、この甘酸っぱさがにぎりの味をかき消すというか、邪魔をするというか、そんな印象でした。 そもそも美味しい新生姜ですから、甘さを控えめにされると、キリッとして、当店のにぎりにより合うと思いました。

穏やかで、物腰柔らかい二代目の醸し出す雰囲気によって、とても居心地よく過ごせました。

細かな点はさておき、18品前後に瓶ビール1本が付いてこの価格とは、CPはめちゃくちゃいいです！
