Bistro Trunk in Nakano – I’ve been here 5 or 6 times now, and every visit still feels fresh and full of new surprises. It truly remains one of my favorite places.

Every dish this time was flawless: • Caramelized Chicken Liver Terrine – rich, smooth, with a sweet, toasty finish that keeps me coming back every time. • Hachis Parmentier – tender beef layered with creamy potato, perfectly matched with wine. • Mussels and Broccoli Bourgogne Style – bursting with flavor, and the sauce with baguette was irresistible. • Gorgonzola Risotto – rich yet balanced, with a touch of green beans adding texture. • Crispy Tilefish with Sakura Shrimp Beurre Blanc – beautifully crisp skin and delicate, flavorful sauce.

The chef’s passion, technique, and respect for ingredients shine through every plate, turning food into art. And the service? Warm, thoughtful, perfectly timed – making you forget the outside world.

Food was good! The atmosphere was nice and we enjoyed our time. I wish the menu was a bit bigger, my pregnant wife couldn't eat many things on the menu, also the wine policy was a bit cheeky, only offering whole bottles of the cheaper wines and not by the glass, I only wanted one glass so had to buy a different wine that I didn't really want. The food however was very good! And the staff were pleasant and easy...

We went to this restaurant to celebrate our anniversary. We ordered fish carpaccio, liver mousse, sea whelk in parsley paste, duck confit, venison with red wine sauce and chocolate ganache.
