It was ok overall. The review might read negative, however, it wasn’t a bad experience.
Just not to my taste and others may enjoy this restaurant.
It took some time to order, I presume the person at the till was new.
It isn’t why I rate the service low. It was mainly because after that there wasn’t very much else in terms of service to receive. You just pick your burgers up at the counter.
It would have been nice to be told about their sauces that you can add to the burger and given a small paper dish to put them in. Or any other interaction.
The burgers were fine, the mince meat I feel was more chunky. As if it came from steaks that were chopped up by hand? Whilst it does sound nice on paper, the meat had some tough and chewy bits that made it hard for the kids to eat.
I also noted that the meat had a “smell/strong taste” to it. Similar to the strong taste/smell that mutton/lamb can sometimes have.
If you’re not fond of that, it may put you off.
The chips and milkshakes were nice. Nothing wrong there.
I would add this to my list of places that I wouldn’t visit again....
Read moreBurgers Tokyo was great. Conviently located in Shimo Kitazawa, grab some lunch or dinner here while shopping around for whatever eclectic nonsense you are into (retro gaming is MY drug of choice).
The flavor of the meat is top notch and juicy. I had a double cheeseburger, and liberally experimented with the variety of provided sauces. Delicious. I only drop one star because the size of the burger was a little small for the price (~¥1400 for a burger/fries/drink combo) and I am a glutton.
However, I can EASILY forgive that one blemish for the simple fact that they are dog friendly. We were able to bring our dog inside with us for our dinner and that is just fantastic. They did make sure to mention that they aren't dog friendly INSIDE at all hours, but there is outdoor seating that is always dog friendly. Just check before going if you really need to eat inside with your dog.
Overall great place, will probably go back...
Read moreThis is going to be a longer review because I really enjoyed all my food here. tl;dr it’s GREAT!
This is the best burger I’ve had in my two years in Tokyo! The burger was juicy, perfectly cooked, and had a delicious charred taste. The pickles are also great, I think they must have used fresh dill in the brine because it had a strong herb flavour. The sauces at the table were especially good, I LOVED the truffle barbecue sauce!
I also liked the chocolate shake a lot, there was a strong milk ice cream taste with a not-too-sweet chocolate flavour. The Dr Pepper definitely used a bit more soda syrup, so it had a strong almond taste too. 🤤
Only point of criticism is that I think the fried chicken was too salty, but it was still good.
Burgers in Tokyo are usually pretty expensive compared to the States, but this is one of the few times I’ve thought the burger fully earned the cost performance! Absolutely worth a trip in...
