You should not stay here by any means. This place is an absolute scam. Their cancellation policy is that they keep 91% of your payment. For this, and their poor through lack of communication customer service, I give this place one star. This location has been accused of having mold in the aircon, bedbugs, and a lack of security, leading to drunk persons who are not guests entering the hotel. Use the photos and videos below as an example. For a similar cost, you can get much better capsule hotels in other locations in Tokyo with much better customer service and safety.
Edit on 1/20/2025: They have wantonly ignored every single message that I have sent them. However, they have had enough time to deny every refund request I submitted, without messaging me directly. The blatant disrespect to a paying customer is beyond unacceptable and insulting. For context, I have been trying to contact them since 1/9, and have not gotten ANY direct reply.
Edit on 2/4/2025: Still nothing. Hopefully they invest my money into getting rid of that infestation. I'm not...
Read moreI booked a private room here recently. The location is fantastic - you are absolutely in the thick of Shimokitazawa. However if you are a light sleeper, this is not the place for you. The bed is ok, not the greatest but it's ok for one person in the private room (it's really small)
Despite being in a private room there's is no sound proofing - you will hear people yelling in the street all night, no matter the day of the week. Just outside the room is a common space - I was unlucky to be staying with some other guests who were keeping everyone awake until 3am - if anyone is speaking in the common space you can hear them clearly. There is also a bar upstairs in the building so you'll hear people coming up and down all night.
The building is quite run down, there's no elevator and you have to carry your things up many stairs. Bathrooms were quite cramped as well.
Id recommend this place if you want to be out bar hopping all night and want to be in a cool location - but if you need good sleep definitely not the...
Read moreThis hostel is very conveniently located and is very close to the station. It's near many cool coffee shops, restaurants, and thrift stores- Shimokitazawa is a very trendy area. However, there are no lockers or places to store your valuables. There is nowhere to put big luggage (or none that I saw), I simply had my backpack in my bunkbed with me. The ventilation and air flow in the bunk beds isn't great and the walkway is very narrow. It is four people in bunkbeds per room, but the walls are quite thin and you can hear people walking up and down the hallway and snoring.
For the price and location it isn't bad, but just be prepared for a very small space, no elevator, and bring a lock for your bag or keep your valuables on your person. For staying one night I didn't have any major issues...
