The sign that says they sold 2000 cheesecakes in 10 minutes caught my attention but when I went into the shop, I was drawn to the delicious-looking cookies and cakes instead.
Decided to try Jack and the original Mont Blanc (they are having a marron fair now and there are a few variations of mont blanc). Also got their new puff pastry cheese sticks and cacahuete sable (peanut butter cookie). The cakes were nice and rich, and the chocolate-coated meringue base of the Mont Blanc was especially scrumptious. The cheese sticks are quite salty but I imagine that they can be good with wine. The peanut butter cookies are yummy and have a crumbly texture.
Will try their legendary cheesecake next time.
Update Feb 2021: Finally got to try their legendary cheesecake. Unlike the rich, dense texture of Basque cheesecakes that have gained popularity in recent years, this cheesecake is so light and fluffy that it melts in the mouth like cotton candy. Even though it keeps for 4 days, we couldn't stop eating and it was gone within minutes!
I also tried the Yoyo Macarons that can be kept at room temperature. The texture is fluffier than the usual macarons so it provides more contrast and brings out the nice, chewy sweetness of the filling even...

   Read moreThis place is like being in pastry heaven! Ordered a couple of cakes and they were packed perfectly and ready for the scorching heat of August in Tokyo. Tried some of the macarons and the financiers and they are just ridiculously good! The price seems right for the quality you get. Makes you feel like you are at the best pastry shops in Paris!
The only drawback is not having an area to sit and enjoy these beautiful and delicious cakes...
