Every visit is treated as a celebration in my circle.
On our last visit, we had pastrami sandwiches, ribs, hummus & naan, pickles, and for the first time tried their smoked wings. The ribs are delicious and tender. They give you a sweet sauce to add to your liking, and it takes serious dedication not to smother them and make a scene. The hummus & naan always makes an appearance at our table. Great as an appetizer, and you can order more naan when you run out. The selection of pickles is always a worthy addition if you’re trying multiple things. You can eat them as a palate cleanser between trying different things, or just for a refreshing bite while you’re eating your ribs or sandwich. The pastrami sandwich… always the star of the show for us. This isn’t good just by Japan standards, I believe this is better than most everything I’ve tried in the States. If you only try one thing, try this. As for the smoked wings, these did leave a bit to be desired. They’re not bad by any means, but when everything else on the menu is so great, they just fell a little short.
The prices are not really cheap here, but when you have such an amazing meal, they never feel expensive. It’s definitely worth the cost, every time. Will be...
Read moreFriend of a friend recommended that we check out this place. There aren't many good BBQ joints in Tokyo and this is one of the better ones. First of all the pastrami sandwich is must. They are very generous with the pastrami (salty, tender, flaky and fatty!) and it's just plain awesome. The smoked ribs are also highly recommended. I didn't get to try the smoked chicken wings but the others in my party who tried it said it's good. The smoked mackerel with cheese appetizer (served with a few slices of crusty baguette) was something different and I enjoyed it. However the pork belly was disappointing - I could barely discern any of hints smokiness and it was tough and chewy, as if they just seared a piece of boiled pork belly. When I eat pork belly I expect smoky tender morsels of meat and fat that melt in your mouth. This was the opposite of that. Avoid.
According to my alcoholic friend they have a great selection of beer. This place is popular and seating is limited so it's best to call ahead...
Read moreEdit- 4th Visit on 30th July 2022. Had a wonderful smoked mackerel, soup, Pastrami ends Sand', and BBQ pulled pork. Pastrami san' now 2,000 with a side salad, upped review from 4 stars to 5. Review Dec 2021 - Had the NY pastrami with a grapefruit lemonade followed by the pulled pork san' with oolong tea . The pastrami was good, expected a small side of something to come with it for 2,400 but it just came with some pickles. It was great, not Brick Lane great but great none the less. The pulled pork san' was really great, 1,000 yen, good value for the tastes, I think it was the same bun as the pastrami, a good bun. Striking vinegar lick to the sauce that cuts across the meat, nice crispy bits. This place has 14 covers I think, so it gets packed quickly, worth the wait tho'. Bill was 4,400 for 2 burgers and two soft drinks. Nice place,...
