I love the vibes, designs, and service of this cafe. I also have several tips for you before you come to this cafe.
The macchiato is served in the authentic Italian way, aka in a small cup with a strong shot. I thought they were serving it in a “Starbucks way” lol. Regardless, it was a very nice coffee. The steamed milk gave a little sweet hint to the coffee. If I come here again, maybe I’ll get a latte instead.
I got their carrot cake, the middle is moist, but the outer part is a bit dry. Thank goodness it came with cream cheese, so you can spread it before you eat it (adding a little moisture to the cake).
The staff told me that the time limit for dining in is 1 hour 30 minutes. I was planning to do my work here, but I ended up briefly reading a novel because of this. So, don’t expect to spend hours here, especially if it is lining up outside the cafe. (Yes, if you’re unlucky, you need to queue before getting in).
It’s a pet-friendly cafe, some people bring dogs to the cafe. (I am not complaining because I love dogs lol)
As expected from a touristy cafe, the staff can speak English.
If you come from Yoyogi Uehara Station to the Cafe, the walk is...
Read moreThis cafe in a quiet neighbourhood is as good if not better (depending what you like most about cafes) than many of the more established coffee shops in the city center.
Everything on the menu was great. Fresh pastries from a local bakery that was tasty. Homemade hot dog that was incredibly juicy and flavoursome. The latte had nice smooth textured milk. Black coffees weren't overly bitter but highlighted intrinsic flavours of coffee. The wooden interior is beautiful, cosy, with relaxing music in the background. It was also very helpful that the owner could speak english very well.. only wished if he was more friendly and approachable. I've seen other reviews about how bad and rude the service is, but i think it isn't bad.. they would offer to serve water, ask if everything was okay and all.
They carry stumptown coffee which is from the States. One of the pioneer of specialty/third wave coffee that has really bring this whole coffee culture to the forefront. You can find verve / bluebottle in shinjuku station which is worth visiting, but i also recommend local coffee establishments like 4/4 season which is also nearby and even more so...
Read moreThis was such a beautiful cafe. Was recommended to me by a friend, and so I decided to make the trip out to visit it. Firstly, the ambience of the cafe was superb. Very nice design and very hipster. The entire cafe was made of wood and there were both indoor and outdoor seating; the outdoor seating had an abundance of plants and trees to give a very nice peaceful vibe. The thing I really loved about the ambience was that there was a vinyl in the cafe playing music, and the staff seemed to be curating the music and changed it every once in a while (they played Carole King's album whilst I was there.) Food-wise, I had their latte and the hot dog. The coffee was really good; well balanced and smooth. The hot dog was really nice too; plump and juicy, with onions on the side. Really enjoyed this cafe and if you have an afternoon free, recommend you...
