Hokusai — Restaurant in Tokyo

On my first day in Japan, I went to this restaurant as it was in my neighbourhood and I was pleasantly surprised how friendly the stuff was and how welcoming they were.

I don’t know much about Japanese food, so I want to give everything a try. They recommended me some very tasty dishes, especially the horse meat, udon noodles and sashimi. Everything was freshly prepared and delicious.

You can pay with credit card and they help you with an English menu as well.

On the last day of our trip, we visited this restaurant while looking for a place to eat near our hotel. The staff was very friendly, and the atmosphere was great with a streetcar passing right in front of the restaurant. It was my first time at a restaurant specializing in raw meat, and it was delicious. During our meal, a Japanese street comedian also visited, allowing us to experience a unique aspect of Japanese culture, which was fun. If I ever stay near Otsuka Station again, I would definitely visit this...

Fantastic little izakaya hidden behind the main area outside the north side of JR Otsuka station. The food quality is very high, the fried chicken was crispy and juicy (here with Korean flavoring as a special option), and the anchovy broth ramen was divine. Other menu options include a specialty cheese cubes dish with soy sauce which I didn’t try this time, as well as various おつまみ, sashimi, and beef/wagyu.
