Kaenzan Lanzhou Lamian — Restaurant in Tokyo

Absolutely disgusting food safety practices and hilariously bad customer service. While I agree with others that the food was good in flavor, the negatives vastly outweighed any positives this joke of an establishment has.

First, I was served a bottle of lukewarm beer that I could clearly see was being stored in contact with marinated raw meat right next to where food is being served. I was also not given glasses to pour the beer into despite it being the larger sharable sized beer (too big to drink directly from the bottle), so I ended up having to use the tiny plastic water cups they have at each table.

Afterwards I ordered two similar beverages, one with an extra shot of alcohol and the other regular, and when they brought them to the table the waitress just shrugged as to which one was which and made zero effort to find out for us. The same thing happened with our food orders, with the waitress throwing our bowls down without telling us what it was so we just had to guess which soup was whose based on the pictures in the menu.

Lastly when checking out to pay, I had a bill of 5020 yen, so I put exactly 5020 yen onto the cash tray and the waitress just stared at the money for a solid, awkward five seconds. I finally prompted her to let her know "that money is for you" and she acted surprised and finally took the cash.

At no point were there any language barrier problems that caused any of this since both the staff and myself spoke Japanese to each other. I don't know if the people working here are idiots, lazy, or both, but I won't willingly come...

BEWARE - rude service. I am shocked this place as good reviews. We came here for lunch and were seated quickly. The waitress hovered over us as we looked through the menu - it seemed like she wanted us to rush through our selection and to make an order. The ramen itself was fine - it was the service that l am absolutely shocked by. Everyone working at the restaurant sat down next to us to eat, took our water, and ignored us. The cherry on top is when the waitress told us we had to leave ... in the middle of our meal!!!!!! Apparently the store was closing - but if your store is closing so soon, why did you seat us in the first place? We had to leave most of our food unfinished. Unfortunately they forced us to pay first so it’s not like we could even complain and pay less for the amount that we ate. I can’t understand how this place has high reviews. I came to Japan and have been trying all the noodle/ramen shops who has high reviews. I tried their No#1 seller on the menu, which is the noodles, and it was completely lacking in flavor. This was probably the worst one I’ve tasted so far. I definitely didn’t get what was pictured on the menu. The noodles stuck together and I received about a tablespoon(if even that) of green onions/cilantro. The extremely thin slices of beef(3) were VERY tough. I notice that this place serves halal, so perhaps that’s what they are known for. I would NOT recommend this place, at least for the noodles. The service was horrible as well but really wouldn’t mind if the food was good. The waitress just stood talking to the kitchen staff when I entered, and pretty much had to sit myself down, without her help.
