BicCamera Ikebukuro Main Store — Local services in Tokyo

I bought something online and it came with a paper receipt. When I wanted to return the product in the store they said I needed a receipt because they can’t accept the internet receipt. They had me on their system as buying it but they refused to take it because they don’t want to pay for transporting it to their warehouse. I was told to call the warehouse. I asked them if there was someone who can help me with the call because my Japanese is not good. They refused.

This is by far the worst customer service experience I’ve ever had.

It’s really ironic that they are a technology store yet they don’t believe in e-receipts.

I called and they did not have anyone who speaks English (the person at the store said there would be). They also want me to pay for the shipping cost....

Some of the worst service I have received in Japan. I bought a phone and wanted to buy a SIM card with the points I earned. They told me I couldn't claim my points because I didn't have my point card. The day after I returned with my card and tried to buy the SIM. They sent me to another register to redeem my points. I queued again and redeemed my points. I then queued for a forth time in two days (ten minutes each time). When I tried to buy the SIM, they told me I had to wait until the day after when my points had been validated. Everything electronic you can think of. I didn't find the prices significantly different from Europe, even on domestic JP brands. And the offer of Korean and Chinese products are limited of absent (they have no phone cases for Samsung phones or brands like Huawei). Maybe I was just unlucky but I couldn't find an English speaking customer server, the main store in Akiba was more prepared for tourists I guess. Anyhow it's a good place for some emergency shopping, like if you need a memory card or an extra battery. For pricier items like cameras or drones I would visit the Akiba branch so you can discuss your preferences more, ifbyou can't speak tech...
