We stayed 9 nights here and loved this hotel. It is easy to find from Ikebukuro station which is a wonderful station to go anywhere in Tokyo. The staff speak English and are very thorough with check-in explaining everything. In the lobby there is free instant coffee and a selection of toiletries, yukatas (Japanese gowns to borrow) a vending machine with beer (there is a Family Mart also on the corner), and a selection of softer pillows. The rooms are small, tiny but well designed with comfy beds and all we needed. Every day if you don't want your room serviced, fresh towels, 2 bottles of water and new toothbrushes are placed outside your door. The hair dryer is good and toiletries in the room also fine. Now for the Onsen....if you have large tattoos that can't be covered you can't use it but if you don't be brave, strip off and enjoy. Put on your Yakata, I just wore nickers underneath, left side over the top, slippers and go to the bath (separate for male and female). Leave your shoes at the door, grab a locker, strip off, go in, sit on a stool, wash, then soak in the bath. Everyone is naked, no-one is looking, it was so relaxing and a great experience. My only complaint is on all the web sites it states this hotel has luggage storage but you can only leave a bag there if you have another reservation or have checked out that day. eg we couldn't leave our bags there for a side trip to Hakone as we had booked somewhere else. Highly recommend this hotel, friends stayed in another hotel with rooms the same size for 3 times the price...
