After a long day we came hungry to this place and left hungry. We wanted to try sushi, but the menu was in japanese only, the translator app didn't really help in this case. From the very beginning I felt unwelcomed, as if I'm an intruder, the orders came with one-bite size pieces of sushi one by one. There were 4 people besides us, and each bite of sushi took about 8 minutes to get. Of course, it's probably acceptable for those people who would like to sit and talk, slowly enjoying the process. But when you're tired, hungry and want to go home, it was really bad. After 3 pieces of sushi, we couldn't take it any longer and left.
The attitude of the sushist was kinda annoying, he was unwelcoming and I felt passive aggression in his answers to my questions such as what does he recommend etc
Also I think it was unhygienic that he made sushi without gloves and without washing hands after touching his phone that he uses for translating English. Usually it's okay to make sushi without gloves but after touching a phone is a big no. The amount of germs on the phone is bigger than on a handrail...
Read moreOne of the best sushi of our lives. Hands down one, if not the best. The location is convenient, close to the kita ikebukuro station. The chef is the highlight of this place, very accomodating to foreigners and has his translator(phone app) on the ready. My wife and I had a great time, some locals are also at the restaurant, we met some cool people and made friends. The fish (sushi) are all fresh and the chef had an assortment of special sake. We drank and ate the night away with new found friends and even returning the following day to gift the chef a special alcohol i acquired from the philippines during our travel. If ever I am back in tokyo, I will defintely come back to this place. If you are on the edge, and is reading this review. Do not hesitate, this is one of the few restaurants that do not turn foreigners away and one of the best sushi you will have. Go make new friends and enjoy the masterful show of...
Read moreOut of every restaurant I've been to around the world, this place is by far the most exceptional in terms of customer service. The sushi chef was incredibly friendly and when I told him that I could not speak Japanese, he immediately unplugged his phone which was charging and started to translate everything. The sushi was so delicious and fresh. It was meticulously made and was worth every cent. Even the sake was the best I've ever had. If and when I return to Tokyo, this place would be the only place I would revisit over and over again. It sounds too good to be true so I highly recommend everyone visits here at least once to see for themselves. (I ate the sushi before I realised I hadn't taken a photo....
