Monami — Restaurant in Tokyo

My husband and I went to Japan for our honeymoon. Our first day we went to Cafe Mon Ami for breakfast. We don’t know much Japanese but the owner was very helpful and very patient with us as we navigated the new area, and new customs. Both my husband and I agree that Cafe Mon Ami is in our top three favorite things we did in Japan. The owner and his wife make great food, great conversation, and are very kind. The owners are incredibly kind and helpful. We were waiting for a taxi to the airport and had a lot of luggage with us, but they kindly allowed us to leave it at the entrance and have a meal here while we waited. The pasta and cake were delicious and the owners kept us company and talked to us while we waited, allowing us to stay as long as we needed even after we finished eating. ブレンドコーヒー、トースト（野菜サラダ、ジャム、ヨーグルト付き）、モーニングサービスのゆで卵をいただきました。

パンは5枚切り程の厚さ。 風味がとても良く、密度のあるもっちりした食感の美味しいパンです。 表面にはクドさのない上品な味のバターが塗られています。 またメイプルシロップのような甘い香りが付けられていました。

サラダは新鮮でシャキシャキした食感。 シーザードレッシングがかけられていました。

ヨーグルトは甘味のないタイプ。 ベリージャムと合わせて食べたらとても美味しかったです。

ゆで卵は温かい状態で、黄身がしっかり固まる程度のゆで加減。

ブレンドコーヒーは香りが良く酸味がやや強め。その後をマイルドな苦味が追いかけてきて、味わい深い余韻が感じられる美味しいコーヒーでした。

土曜日の9時前に訪問。 先客はおらず、1時間ほどの滞在でしたが後客もいませんでした。

お店は入口で靴を脱いでスリッパに履き替えるシステムです。 店内は明るく清潔感があり、木の温もりが感じられる旅館のような雰囲気でした。

これまでにいろいろな喫茶店を巡ってきましたが、こちらはとても印象深いお店でした。 食事とコーヒーのクオリティの高さ、店内の清潔感と雰囲気の良さの他にも、THERMOSのタンブラーで出されるお冷やや温かいおしぼりなど、細かいところにまでお客を持てなそうとする気心が感じられました。 特別感のある素敵な時間を過ごすことができて感謝の気持ちで一杯です。

北池袋というこれといった特徴のない場所ですが、このお店のためにわざわざ訪れる価値があると思いました。 近くに寄った際にはまた利用したいと思います。ごちそうさまでした。
