There are a couple of 1 star reviews on here talking about foreigners being overcharged, being handed English menus, prices on the wall etc. They are false. I am a very white very Australian man and I have been to Komugiya hundreds of times. To my knowledge there is no English menu. Nor prices on the walls. There is a ticket machine and, as of 2023, there is no English on the buttons. Which is fine, shop is in Japan. The owbner, his Mum and and his staff have treated me with sincere omotenashi service and their ramen is some of the finest shoyu tonkotsu you will ever eat. The chasumen should be about 1200 yen. When we came in and staff handed us an English menu even though we are fluent in Japanese, when we sat down we noticed the Japanese menu hanging everywhere on the wall, the prices were a lot cheaper.
If they raised the prices in general they should change it on the Japanese menus as well.
Either way would not recommend, the food was not worth the price we paid. It was edible but far from good. I also do not recommend the gyoza, they tasted a little worse than store bought.
But I liked the light blue clock they had on the wall, it was very cute....
