I went here on my own as an Aussie girl who loves an onsen and I really liked this one! I have a small tattoo on top of my foot which has never been noticed or been an issue and no dramas with that here either. As described the building is older and a little run down but had everything you need! I went at about 6pm on a Tuesday and only about 6-8 women using different areas while I was there. Grab a key from entry, remove your shoes and pop them in a locker. Through to pay- 550¥ if you bring your own towel or you can hire. Can only describe female area as high wall separates men’s from women’s. Then through to large locker area with plenty of lockers with key band for wrist. Strip off and walk through to baths. Grab a low stool to sit on and a bucket to wash your self off. Soap, shampoo and conditioner provided but I always bring my own as; A) I can’t read Japanese so never know which bottle is which B) also have shocking eye sight so even if it was in English I’d have no idea lol! Anyone once you are washed and clean in the shower area I like to wrap my small onsen towel round my head to keep it up and away from the onsen bath. Plunge away- baths start cooker on the left and there are 4 getting progressively hotter. I like the occasional cold splash between baths so would step out and go sit back in bath area to fill a bucket and tip it over me before getting hot again. Didn’t get more than a quick, shy smile from the other customers- all Japanese so felt very comfortable and accepted. After onsen, washed off and dried in the bathing room with my onsen towel so you don’t drip on your way back to locker. Hairdryers available but need a 20¥ coin for 3 mins. Also had a massage chair which was a bargain for only 100¥ for 10 mins. Look it wasn’t the fanciest chair but my back and neck after flying and walking all day appreciated it! Highly recommended and I will...

This is a traditional Japanese sento (public bathhouse) offering a serene and stress-free atmosphere. Guests are required to bring a face towel into the bathing area, which is used for washing the body and drying off after bathing. It is important to ensure that the dressing room floor is not left wet; it is customary to wipe off any excess water. As a general rule, guests must wash thoroughly with soap before entering the bath. While foreign languages are not supported, English signage is available...
