Mallorca Futakotamagawa — Restaurant in Tokyo

Last time we dined at Mallorca was probably last autumn, and we had been regulars for many years during the warm months, mainly because of their terrace (something that often proves to be difficult to find in Japan). Yesterday we called to book a table on the terrace for dinner. Huge the disappointment (and incomprehension!) then when we were told that they had turned the terrace into a so-called ‘free space’ and were no longer serving their guests there! It’s beyond my comprehension why they decided to do something like this. For us, this sadly removed one of the main reasons (beside the delicious food - especially the paella!) for us to go there. Ordered a takeaway. First time I ordered their original basque cheesecake and pistachio basque cheesecake. OMG it was so delicious. The original one, you can eat the whole thing without feeling greasy. One bite and you will keep wanting more. But my fav is pistachio. The scent and the taste are strong in which I like. Not feeling as greasy as the original one too. Highly recommended!

The next day I went back for their savory sandwich. I got egg salad sandwich and BLT. I think they are okay. If you are in a rush, it would be perfect. The size and the price are also align. But nothing special about this.

Overall, Basque Cheesecake...

Solid Spanish food in the Futako Tamagawa area. I had the Paella for set lunch and it was decent. Doesn't give you a wow factor or anything but the Paella was done properly. They give you a salad as the starter. The portion is quite small so there's a good chance the meal won't fill you up.

I also had the basque cheesecake and wow I gotta say this was amazing. Probably one of the best basque cheesecake I've ever had in my life. The portion is quite small though so you'll be craving for more.

Overall, this place is a solid Spanish restaurant. Lunch will probably be significantly cheaper than dinner. I will be coming here for...
