This experience was so upsetting that I feel compelled to warn others.
This restaurant was personally recommended by a close friend who has visited many times and even considers it one of his favourites. Out of gratitude—since he and his family were incredibly kind during our first trip to Tokyo—I decided to show a small gesture of appreciation. I arrived early and handed one of the staff a 20,000 yen deposit, asking them to ensure my friend wouldn’t be charged for the dinner.
That turned out to be the worst decision of the entire trip.
As soon as my friend and his family arrived, he confidently started ordering multiple serves of dishes—like Peking duck and spicy chicken etc.—under the impression that the portion sizes were the same as he remembered: tiny, “just one bite each,” as he put it. He had been here many times and thought he knew what to expect.
But what followed was nothing short of shocking. Every dish came out in huge portions. And not just one or two—all of the dishes we ordered were served in bulk and all at once, turning the table into a mountain of food. When we quickly realised we couldn’t possibly finish them and asked the staff to cancel the remaining dishes, they simply said it was “too late” because everything had already been prepared. It became clear they never intended to follow our instructions or show any flexibility.
To make matters worse, the menu clearly states that uneaten food will be charged a penalty of 500 yen per dish—a policy they were eager to enforce. Our final bill came to over 25,000 yen for four adults and one six-year-old child. The staff refused to acknowledge the discrepancy in portion sizes compared to past visits, and instead insisted this was “normal.” That is simply not true, and frankly, dishonest.
To top it all off, one of the scallop dishes tasted questionable, raising concerns about food quality and safety.
I am Chinese myself, and I’ve heard the warnings about some Chinese restaurants in Japan taking advantage of guests. I always brushed them off—until now. This isn’t just bad service. It’s deceptive, opportunistic, and disgraceful business practice that leaves a bitter taste—both literally and figuratively.
This restaurant took advantage of our goodwill, manipulated the ordering process, and refused to take responsibility. I felt embarrassed, angry, and above all, deeply disappointed.
I strongly urge others to stay away. No place—no matter how good the food may look—should treat...
Read moreI recently had the chance to enjoy an authentic Beijing Roast Duck, and it was easily one of the most memorable dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. The dish is not only delicious but also deeply tied to Beijing’s culinary tradition, making it a must-try for anyone visiting the city.
The duck was presented beautifully, with its skin roasted to a perfect golden brown. What amazed me most was the crispiness of the skin paired with the tenderness of the meat. Each slice carried a rich aroma, and when wrapped in a thin pancake with scallions, cucumber, and a touch of sweet bean sauce, the flavors balanced wonderfully. The sweetness of the sauce, the freshness of the vegetables, and the savory richness of the duck created a perfect harmony in every bite.
What sets Beijing Roast Duck apart from other dishes is the meticulous preparation. The duck is roasted in a special oven that gives it a unique flavor and texture. The chefs carved it right at the table, which made the experience feel special and interactive. I appreciated how the restaurant served the duck in multiple ways—first the crispy skin, then the meat, and finally a comforting soup made...

The food is at shockingly low quality, it is unbelievable how such dirty, chaotic, low quality resturant could exist in Tokyo.
We went for all you can eat option and didn’t even order a second round because the food is simply disgusting.
It is even more disgusting if you see the kitchen, which is right next to the toilet. Customers were waiting more than 10 mins for using the toilet because the employees were hiding inside to avoid chaotic work outside. What is more disgusting is that employees who went to the toilet did not even flush!! Those are the people who make you food and they have such terrible hygiene!
Moreover, their signature dish, Peking duck, is not worth being called “ Peking duck”, at all. The sink is not roasted crispy , the source tasted like they have expired for a few years, and let alone to mention the custom services and atmospheres. This resturant has nothing to offer that is even close to an authentic Peking duck experience!
Now I am just praying I won’t get sick and don’t have to go to the hospital because of their food.
Avoid ,...
