Park Store is a part of Cafe The Sun Lives Here group. They have this donut shop, cafe, and what they call “factory” within the group. The Park Store was easy to find, with a cute little truck out front.
Park Store make amazing looking donuts. We were lucky to get there during off peak time, still early enough, so that all of their offerings were still available.
They had cheesecake in jars in the refrigerated window showcase. The Cafe The Sun Lives Here is mostly about cheesecakes, the Park Store is the only spot that you can get their donuts. But the cheesecakes are sold at all three locations. They also had some other snacks, and their merchandizes.
Although all of their donuts looks soooooo good, we were interested in their creamed filled ones, so that made our choice easier. We chose three donuts and Hot Milk Coffee. We got Cheese Cream Donuts, Strawberry Cream Donuts, and Chocolate Cream Donuts. They have a small seating area right there, so we could sit and enjoy the freshly made donuts.
These donuts were really big! Some call them “fist size donuts” but I tell you, it was bigger than my fist for sure. It was heavy with glorious amount of cream in the inside. The cream was so good, velvety and creamy. The donut itself was so airy and fluffy, not greasy at all. It was amazing from the first bite to the last.
Then, we tried the Chocolate Cream Donuts. It was covered in cocoa powder, and again, filled with the cream to the max! This one was messier to eat, since it was coated in powder, but I tell you what, it is worth all the mess! The slight bitterness from the cocoa powder and the sweet chocolate cream balanced out each other, airy and fluffy dough, making you feel joy and happiness with each bite. These donuts surely lived up to the hype for sure!
After sharing two donuts with my hubby, we were getting full… So, we had the Strawberry Cream donuts much later when we got home. You have been warned of their size, these donuts are huge! Best to share with others, and unless you are super hungry, I think one donut will be enough for a person. But they are super delicious and worth all the hype!
As we were leaving, we got to see a staff going into the truck right outside to fry up these donuts in there. That is so cool how they do...
Read moreI stumbled upon Park Store, also known as "Park Side Donuts," and was pleasantly surprised. This small, 6-seat shop has an inviting American farmhouse barn vibe and offers cheesecakes, donuts, and pudding. By 2 PM, when I arrived, all cheesecakes were sold out, and the seats were full.
I opted for the cheese crumb donut, a sugar-glazed donut generously filled with cheese cream. As my photos show, it's packed to the brim with filling—no air pockets or deflated sections. The dough itself is light, fluffy, and perfectly glazed. The cheese cream filling is exceptional: dense, almost crumbly like cheesecake, with a sweetness perfectly balanced by the cheese flavor and just a hint of tartness.
The cheesecake is very much geared towards the Japanese palate as the sweetness is easily the lightest that I've tasted. There is a small crumb crust at the bottom which most Japanese cheesecake clearly lack. It's softer and lighter in density in comparison to NY cheesecake but arguably that may be the appeal.
They also offered an "ice cream donut" for summer, which is a donut cut in half with a scoop of ice cream in the middle. While too decadent for me at the time, it's a fantastic and novel option.
Though very far off the beaten path, I highly recommend Park Store to any donut aficionado or anyone with a serious...
Read moreHigh class doughnut.
This is a big doughnut, probably 2x - 3x the weight and size of your regular Mr.Doughtnut or Krispy Cream Doughtnut.
At first the cost seems a lot, but it's a very good value for how much you get. If you get one with cream beware that that pack it full of cream. It will come bursting out so be prepared.
The only two complaints I have are more personnel than an issue with the doughnut itself.
I wish they dusted the doughtnut as opposed to roll, since it's so much sugar added when it's rolled. The second is I wish they had an alternative to cream cheese whipped cream. Gelatin holds about as well and would help reduce the cost while also bring down the calorie and dairy of the...
