Was not served menus and had to steal from another table. The recommended menu was very old and many things were scratched out, making it hard to understand even if you are fluent in Japanese. I ordered the coconut curry assuming the price was ¥1350, but after finishing this small portion (as pictured), the staff told me the price would be ¥1680. When I asked why the price suddenly changed for so little food, he said that rice costs extra. This curry shop is rare, as it is overly expensive for the amount of food and the staff do not tell you the extra charges until you have to pay. Disappointed. Read moreI’ve always been curious about this little Indian Curry restaurant next to the Setagaya Park. It’s on my jogging path and the Spice Magic’s character had always given me intrigue and appeal.
We came here for lunch on a weekend, and ordered beef curry and chicken curry (based on Cashew paste), together with a 4-item small spiced and pickled vegetables with rice and garlic naan.
The meal was really delicious and really filled us up with curry that really brings out the various spices in a good way. It’s not too heavy but has good punch in its curry. The garlic naan was also really thin and crunchy with every bite full of chopped garlic.
