Wow, I wouldn’t normally come to this ramen shop as I don’t normally go for tanmen style ramen. But, I’m really glad my friends took me here!
The tanmen is incredible. The broth has such a nice subtle umami flavor. It comes with a generous portion of cabbage and other vegetables. The noodles are nice and thick. They look handmade and the texture is perfect 👌🏽
They have a house made ラー油, or chili oil. It was very delicious. It really added so much complexity to the ramen, and the gyoza as well. It’s peppery, earthy and spicy. Please give it a try. I used some of the chili oil and black vinegar on the small vegetable side dish they serve before your meal.
Last but not least… the GYOZA IS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! Honestly it might be some of the best gyoza I’ve ever had, and I’m comparing that to gyoza I’ve had in the Utsunomiya and the Kansai region. In addition to the service veggies you get upon sitting down, the tanmen has a generous portion of steamy cabbage in a delectable, salt based broth.
