Visited Ramen Sukoyaka for the first time today- Tuesday April 2, 2025. It was a 9°C cool drizzly morning and I arrived at 10:08am, almost 1 hour before they open. I was first on line, and got to wait behind the fire hydrant (actually a fire extinguisher in red box) across the street. 2 people joined the line at 10:40am, so I guess I arrived a tad too early. Anyway, they opened the door at 11:00am and I entered the store.
I ordered the "Special Salt Ramen" [特製塩ラーメン] for 1300 yen. Decided to get it Large Size [大盛] for an extra 150 yen, along with a Seasoned Egg [味玉] for 200 yen. Lastly ordered a Rice Bowl [次き込みご飯] for 300 yen. Handed my tickets over to a very friendly lady behind the counter and sat down in the first seat. The counter is L shaped and can sit 8 or maybe 9 people at once. Few minutes later, my ramen was presented to me very nicely on a tray.
Took a sip of the soup, and it had a very mellow animal-based flavor but the shellfish (clam) flavor was more predominant and made for an amazing combination that came together brilliantly! No problem getting there early to wait by myself to eat this delicious ramen- I will happily do it again 🙂
The handmade noodles were of the thin and straight variation, and they had a nice chewiness to them. The included 2 slices of low-temperature processed chicken and 1 slice of chashu pork, were large, and very tasty. Highly recommend getting the "Aji-Tama" which is their seasoned soft-boiled egg. It was cooked just right and the flavor was intense. Seriously, don't forget to order their 味玉! The rice dish however, was lackluster in taste, and I didn't find that to be special at all. I'll pass on that next time I go there. And I will definitely be returning there to try the other ramen they serve. No wonder why they have made the #Tablelog Top 100 Tokyo Ramen Restaurants for the past 5 years in a row!

"Sukoyaka" is a restaurant that is highly evaluated on the evaluation site “食べログ”. It is about a 3-minute walk from Mitaka Station.
You can only use cash. It cannot be reserved. I visited at noon. Even under the influence of Coronavirus, there were lines before the store opened! The inside of the store was clean and there were many female customers.
I had dried sardines ramen (1030 yen). Niboshi is a processed marine product made by boiling and drying small fish. It is used as soup stock in Japan. First, you should eat the noodles as they are and feel the taste of the ingredients. Then eat normally. The noodles with a unique texture that bounces first and then tears are delicious ✨ When the first bite of soup, "ramen of Sukoyaka" feels to me "After all this is good!" It contains red char siu and white char siu, you should eat chicken char siu(white char siu) as soon as possible after serving! If you do it,you can experience its softness by eating it before the heat...
Read moreI read about this place on ramen bloggers blog and he had raved about the taste of the broth which has some mushroom flavoring to it. I'm not an expert in ramen so I can't tell you whether the mushroom flavor was brought out well, but I was quite satisfied with my bowl. I had ramen with two types of meat. The place is quite popular and can have a line. We arrived 15 minutes before the dinner opening time and there were around 10 people in front of us. So we got in on the second wave. When you arrive if there's a line, you go in and get your ticket and give it to the man at the counter before going back outside to stand in line. As is common with popular ramen shops like this, you can chat a little bit with others in your party, but you wouldn't want to take too long because people are waiting to get their food. All of the seating is bench style. The restaurant is clean and the staff are polite and...
