Waited in the heat and humidity for about 30 minutes, but I was second in line 🙌 The first person ahead of me seemed like a regular—maybe even a neighborhood fixture. As the staff set up for service, she greeted them with a familiarity that suggested history, and they greeted her right back with the same warmth. Even random passersby were blessed with her contagious smile and happy salutations -: kids walking with their moms, the postman, a food delivery guy. She was like everyone’s favorite aunty ☺️ As soon as she was seated, at what was probably her regular counter spot, the staff brought her a steaming cup of hot tea—while everyone else got iced. That made me smile. I love when you witness those quiet gestures that speak volumes. Then came an extra bowl of grated daikon, which she promptly mixed with pickles and veggies to create her own appetizer. It was clear that this was not her first rodeo at this popular lunch place. I appreciated when she pushed the shared shoyu and furikake bowl towards me so that I wouldn't have to strain to reach them it was such a small thing, but it added so much richness to my first visit here. I was still enjoying my meal when she began gathering her things to leave but before she did, she encouraged me to eat lots of rice amd daikon as they are refillable ☺️ Moments like these make waiting in the heat feel completely worth it.

The food was great, but overall 3.5 /5. I went for dinner and the staff said I had to order rice and miso soup separately (which cost 1000 yen). Also, I didnt order the small food (probably otooshi?), which cost 800 yen. Overall, I paid around 3,400 yen. I tried speaking in Japanese, but there may have been some misunderstanding. Again, the food is great but I can get a better food with the same price at other restaurants. I also agree with someone’s comments on the older male staff’s unkind attitude. I may try here for lunch when the rice and miso soup are given for free.

Really good grilled fish and really big portion too! We went at 1pm and managed to get in around 1.30pm - they move people in and out really fast despite the long queue, and take orders while you’re in line so you don’t have to do anything more than just sit down and wait for your food to come after. The place can seat about 16 people and as previous reviews mentioned you don’t see a lot of tourists here. We were the only foreigners there between 1-3pm. Service was honestly great and we pointed at the menu and used Google Lens to translate, but it’s pretty straightforward ie 5 types of fish lunch sets and then you can choose to add sashimi, fish bone broth and/or beer to that. Only downside is that we shared a four seater with a couple and then a pair of older women later who laughed at the way we put the grated raddish 😂 Really awkward when you’re sandwiched btw couples trying to have their dates 😂 But 100% 10/10 amazing grilled fish and soup and side dishes!!! Especially satisfying after a long...

After waiting for more than 10 minutes I wasn't asked to take a seat, besides a 4-seats was already available for welcoming 4 people. So I asked if seat was available finding that clients alone can seat only at the counter. If I knew it I wouldn't waste 10 useless minutes. I addition the attitude of the staff was not good. Now in Japan they try to be "welcoming" (おもてなし) but once again I got confirmation to that hospitality is not a word on Japanese vocabulary. Still way far for being very welcoming. In addition I think they operate on very low hygiene environment, touching food with hands before serving. Today's I'll have some Chinese food, at least they don't waste...
