Singapore Night — Restaurant in Tokyo

Great potential, but ultimately had a bad experience. Way to expensive and if you are chatting, the dj will turn up the music to drown you out. Price does not justify the experience. Zero customers and they would not let use use any other larger table, despite our group being too large for the small table we were given. Literally can fit 50 people in this bar and we had 8 people for a 6 person table and spread onto the nearby table and were scolded. Don’t understand it. Bartender came out and was very aggressive and confrontational. Just look at other similar reviews. The bald worker is also a high-key racist. Was telling us if we are not Japanese, don’t come to Japan etc etc. Definitely give it a miss. Two drinks and it was 4000 yen. I’ve lived in Japan for 11 years and have never seen/ heard about an experience...

Edit: changing my previous high review to reflect recent experiences. Could be a really cool place but the owner/staff don't seem to understand that being kind and friendly are equally as important as playing good music and having ambient lighting. You don't need fake-friendly style service, but staff who at least try to pretend they don't hate you would be nice - it seems like one of those bars where the owner wants you to sit in silence and not make a sound, drink your drink, then leave immediately.

Also, the owner's patronising replies to the other reviews here are embarrassing.

Ladies and gentlemen, and all of the kinds in beetween and above I sincerely think this is the BEST record bar in the world. Taiki san has been collecting rare records for 15 years and is giving it all out every nights. Just tracks that you probably never heard off but bangers only. Don’t get intimated by the sign at the door asking to call, the gentleman is running the operation alone most part of time. Cocktails are exactly what you expect from such a place, smooth and groovy.
