Even though lunch had only 2 options, Chicken Rice or Bah Kut Teh, it took a long time for them to prepare when the restaurant had only 6 patrons at the time, this is also a very small restaurant with 5 tables.
There was alot of noise from preparation and plating from the kitchen, ¥1,400 for the "Large" Chicken Rice was unfortunately overpriced. Serving was normal Adult sized, I cannot imagine how much the smaller portion would be.
This is at best an attempted interpretation of what authentic Hainanese Chicken Rice is supposed to taste like? Mediocre white braised chicken while the rice and chilli lacks any attempt of authenticity. Simply do not recommend.
I felt service was non-existent, rude even. Restaurant accepts electronic payments...
Read moreI ordered a Shrimp Laksa for 1,100 tax-included. Previously I had been to their former place where I had their staple dish “Hainan Chicken Rice”. It was such a terrible experience that I never went back since then. Compared to what I had had before in China or elsewhere, it was absolutely bad and poor quality food I must claim. Since I love eating Laksa and heard they also serve one; I went back there and ordered the Shrimp Laksa ( I was hoping that they could be better this time as they moved to a new spot). It was categorically bad food and bad experience. Firstly, it took them over 15mins to serve such a simple dish, not to mention that no other customers were present at that time. The shrimp they served was poorly prepared that its gut was not well taken care of, very dried piece of probably frozen shrimp( if not so, very poor culinary skill which made it so dried and hard). It had a few pieces of chicken and small eggs and tofu. All of them were not tasty at all. The soup is nothing but merely badly-made Tom Yum Kung, no flavor of coconut in any sense.on the top of these nonsense toppings, the noodle is very horrible. It does not go along with the soup, again the soup itself was already bad enough. I took a few bites and left very upset and disappointed. I will never go back their restaurant ever...

while exploring the Nakameguro area with friends, we craved Asian cuisine for lunch. conveniently, we stumbled upon this small place just around the corner. despite its unassuming exterior, it offered a cozy ambiance inside.
opting for the malay-style black curry, I found it reminiscent of indonesian "rawon", albeit thicker and sweeter. however, it leaned a bit too much on the sweet side for my taste, with not too much protein—just 2-3 small pieces of chicken.
on a brighter note, i sampled a bite of my friend's hainanese chicken rice, which proved to be...
