Starbucks Coffee - Tachikawa Isetan — Restaurant in Tokyo

The atmosphere is nice and the staff are very friendly, but this place has two fatal flaws: (1) there's no internet, and (2) they don't offer soy milk OR nut/hemp milk.

The lack of wifi is unfathomable enough given the fact that it's 2019 (and in Tokyo!), but especially so since a huge part of Starbucks' appeal as a brand is to people who want to come and work on their laptops in a nice environment. (The department store this location part of doesn't have wifi either, so you will get zero work done if you come here.) It's time to step into the 21st century, guys!

As for the milk options, it's hard to find soy or almond milk in coffee shops in Japan in general. But that's another key component of Starbucks' competitiveness in the world of mid-tier coffee chains: you can ALWAYS get a dietary accommodation at Starbucks, whether it's low sugar, low fat or non dairy. Not at this Sbux, though.

I do not have any problem with the beverage or related services. Staffs here are equally good as the staffs of the other Starbucks in the whole world. My only problem is some of its noisy customers, especially in the evenings. If you are thinking to have some relax time, to enjoy your favourite book or to do your work, this is not a perfect place. Some people get so loud, it is just impossible to concentrate. I usually take my earphones to these places, so that I don't have to listen to the strangers. I expect the staff to control such people. If someone is getting too loud, it's their duty to ask those customers to tone it down. But, it seemed that they don't bother at all. I find the Starbucks inside Ecute mall...

「東京のスタバ」と称していいのかわかりませんが、(立川のスタバ、でしょうか)なんでこんなにもレベルが低いのでしょうか？

フラペを二つ頼みました。一つ目を出されて、二つ目を待つこと5分程度。 二回失敗したようで、その間も牛乳の在庫切れかバックヤードに行ってしまったりなんだり。

バーカウンターに列が出来ても、他のパートナーがヘルプに来ることもない。 たぶん時間で入れ替わったパートナーがバーに入ったものの、次のホットビバレッジを作りだしました。わー、スチームやる前に現状見ろよとドン引きですよ。 時間帯責任者、いたんですか？完全に回せて無いですよね？会社のシステム違うの？夜だから社員いなかったのかな？

商品が揃った時の写真のフラペを見てください。 そもそもホイップも出しっ放しで形を成していない。時間経過で完全に溶けています。 スターバックスでこの状態の商品を提供されたのは初めてです。 自分が勤めていた店舗なら、作り直していたと思います。

お金を貰って、出すべき商品ではない。 まぁ、最初から溶けてますから、案の定飲んでたら垂れてきましたよ。洋服汚れました。

スタバって、本来どの店舗でも同じクオリティである事が絶対条件だと思うのですが。 不思議なことに、以前地元で「東京のスタバはもっと素晴らしい！この店は駄目だな！」とお客様にご意見いただいたことありますけど。

私は全く逆でした。慣れ親しんだ土地と店舗に愛着が沸くのもあるでしょうが、

まず、赤坂の店舗では悪天候でお客様がオープン前から並んでいるにも関わらず、3分ほど遅れて開店しました。 オープン作業やった事あるので、正直これは衝撃でした。若いパートナーが全く悪びれず。

とっくに離れた身なので、とやかく言うのもなんなんですが。ただのアルバイトパートナーでしたし。

正直、都内のスタバには二度と行かないと思います。今後の企業の行く末を見た気がします。

地元に戻った時、ちゃんと「サードプレイス」としてのスタバがある事を祈りつつ。
