Taverna I — Restaurant in Tokyo

I went there the other night with my friend, we are both foreigners and we aren't that good in English, the first thing the waitress asked was if we could read Japanese. I personally could read, but it would take me sometime to read it, and my friend couldn't read any Japanese. So we just asked for the English menu, just because. But it was shocking to see that the price and options available on the English menu and the Japanese menu are different. There are more options on the Japanese menu, and the English menu is more expensive. The discrimination is as clear as day. They were very fidgety as well. Even gave us the wrong amount for change. The prices shown outside the restaurant are for the Japanese menu, but when we went inside they gave us the English menu which lists higher prices for the same dishes. My friend can actually read Japanese so we get the Japanese menu instead and order from there instead. However when the bill comes, they charge us based on the English prices.
