This shrine is located precisely between the Hotel Chinzanso and the Higo-Hosokawa Garden. Two magnificent ginkgo trees stand tall, and I was deeply moved climbing the stairs. It's a mysterious and sacred place. Please visit on a sunny day, as it might be slippery at night.

The shrine is said to bring blessings of warding off evil, good fortune, recovery of vitality, career success, and enduring military fortune!

Quoting from a 'Walking Diary':

According to legend, the water deity appeared in a dream to the shrine's priest, saying, 'I am the water deity. If you enshrine me here, I will become the guardian deity of the dam, ensuring the peace and safety of the villagers and the entire Edo town.' This is how the shrine came to be. Kanda Josui, opened in 1590 on the orders of Tokugawa Ieyasu, is said to be the work of Fuguro Okubo (Shusui), so it is presumed to have been established in the late 16th to early...
