Terrace Dining TANGO — Restaurant in Tokyo

Directly across the street from Tokyo Tower, Tango is a tranquil restaurant serving high-end food and drinks. We came on a weekday evening around 8pm and did not need a reservation to dine in the patio. Staff spoke English and the menu is bilingual. We were going to order a set meal but didn't want to eat dessert as both of us aren't into sweets. Instead we ordered wine, macadamia nuts ¥900, salmon carpaccio ¥1700, lobster ¥4300, rib-eye steak ¥3500, cherry bream fish ¥2800 and pasta ¥2000. The food tasted fine and did take a long time to come out. Service was excellent. There was one annoyance. Some obnoxious Indian/American jerk was doing a video conference on his laptop on the side of us. He was loud; clueless to his surroundings and sending items back to the kitchen because he could not read the menu. Service was excellent. Sitting at the open terrace is a great idea for a great view of Tokyo Tower (and currently the 333 koinobori flying outside the main entrance of the Tokyo Tower too). Food tasted great but the portions were very small, we ended up ordering extra mains and appetisers. My son ordered roast chicken and out came only a few slices of roast chicken and a few slices of poached chicken, together with some grilled vegetables. Couldn't have been more than 4 slices of each type of chicken? So we had to order a pasta to fill him up. I really wish I had listened to the review from a year ago. I just had the worst dining experience I have ever had in Japan. We ordered 4 dishes from the menu. It took about 1 hour to get the first 3 items. At the hour and a half mark, I asked where the fourth item was only to be told it was never entered... then was told it would take another 15-20 minutes to make the dish. I said no thanks and asked for the check.

Also the 10% service charge should be illegal. You don't deserve a tip with the quality of service you provided.
