WAKANUI GRILL DINING BAR TOKYO — Restaurant in Tokyo

ニュージーランド出身の方がディナーに連れてきて下さいました。 大きな窓からは東京タワー、レインボーブリッジと夜景が広がるロマンチックなレストラン。来店時、空いているのに関わらず、何故か窓のないお手洗いへ近い席へと案内されました。私が窓側の席は空いてないのでしょうかと聞いても、中途半端な返答のみ。こちらの希望をきくのが面倒という態度でがっかり。その後のサービスは普通でしたが、あまり楽しんで接しては頂けないようで、ワインの事を聞いても、最低限の情報だけの返答でした。ニュージーランドは良いワイナリーがあり、美味しくて定評あると思ってたんやけどなぁ。

とは言え、お料理のクォリティーは最高でした！ほんまに素晴らしい。メインディッシュだけでなく、サラダからデザートまで堪能。 グリーントマトとブラウンマッシュルームのグリーンサラダはシンプルかつフレッシュ。牧草牛のフィレは期待以上に最高級。脂身なくヘルシーに頂けます。 そして…WAKANUIスプリングラムは…あーもうめっちゃ美味しい！としか言いようありませんでした。また来なくては！と心に誓いつつ（笑）堪能。味付けもシンプルなのに、羊の臭みはあまりなくて本来のジューシーな美味しさが味わえます。サイドにはホウレン草のソテーとトリュフフレイバーのポテトを。どちらもとっても美味しい。連れてきてくれた方が最初に「デザートの分、お腹具合を残しておいてね」と言ってて、運ばれてきたNZデザートのパプロバも頂きました。コーヒー好きの私としては、本当はエスプレッソ必須だったけど、同伴者がコーヒー飲まないので我慢！😉 都内には高級ステーキレストランが他にもあるけれど、質はここ以下なのにべらぼうに高いだけ、というところもあるかと。いやほんとステキなディナーでした！また来ます！

A person from New Zealand took me a dinner to WAKANUI. When we got there, still empty seats by the window, but a staff showed us to the table without views and close to the toilet path which was not good. The location is fantastic to see Tokyo tower and Rainbow bridge. Most services were OK but not friendly enough to me, somehow felt she wasn't enjoying to talk to us. When I asked about wine, just minimum explanation, no fun to chat with me atmosphere. I thought New Zealand wines were famous though.

But! Having said that, the quality of food was superb. Fantastic. Not only just the main dishes - meats, everything was so tasty, from salad to dessert. The green salad with brown mushrooms and green tomatoes was really good. Grass-fed beef Fillet was...so good. No fat. Just super high-quality meats. There are a few expensive steak restaurants in Tokyo and they are much more expensive than here with the same or less quality of meats. And..the WAKANUI spring lamb rack was...OMG. I think I have to come back again! So good. Too good! We ordered spinach and grilled potate which some truffle flavor. Both were good too. Pavlova was also tasty. I wish I could have coffee/espresso with it but unfortunately my company did not like coffee. So not...

Celebrated an occasion in Tokyo and sought a fine dining experience near the Hamamatsuchō area. Wakanui ticked all the boxes and booked a couple of weeks in advance. From arrival to finish, the service was impeccable, friendly and welcoming. Selected the set course which has a variety of dishes to sample, paired nicely with a wine selection. The lamb and beef were divine and each dish complemented the next. The ability to have a message delivered with the dessert was another special touch. With direct views of Tokyo Tower from the restaurant (which is located on the top floor), this was a standout...

just walked in around 7.45 pm dressed casually with nice shorts and a shirt and was able to get a table. Staff were very friendly, outgoing and smiling and having a good time. Great atmosphere. HIGHLY recommend it as its very close to the Tokyo Tower and if its hot / humid evening just ordering a the appetizers and few late evening main dishes wont break your budget! I plan on going again before my trip is over (August 5th - 11th 2025. ) Ticks all the boxes, cost, quality, service!!! must...
